When clients book a wedding with me, yes, I look forward to weddings (and especially this one because it’s going to be in Kasane Botswana in a few months). But honestly, one of my favourite parts of my wedding package, is getting to do an engagement session with the couple. It’s a time for them to slow down from wedding planning and take a few moments together as I get to snap a few photos of them. It’s a great opportunity for me to get to know them prior to the wedding day. It’s also a great opportunity for them to get a bit more comfortable in front of the camera, which will help to make their wedding day photos less stressful and more like just hanging out with a friend… well, at least that’s my hope.
Hamish and Phillida were naturals in front of the camera. I think this is mostly in part because they decided to do photos in a place that was special to them – their home that they build together. I know parks are an easy go-to, but it’s such a treat to have a couple’s photos truly reflect a huge part of who they are and their story.
After this session, I’m greatly looking forward to photographing your wedding in a few month, Hamish and Phillida. Until then, may love an joy surround you!
